About Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education:
The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education is a statuary and autonomous body in the nature of Body Corporate, established under the Act No XLI of 1965 and amended in 1977 of State Legislature in Maharashtra. The State Board is established on 1st January, 1966. The Board is a self financing institution fully dependent on its own resources generated through students’ fees, school registration fees and royalty of textbooks. State Board is located at Pune whereas eight Divisional Boards are located at Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amaravati, Nasik, and Latur to cover their respective jurisdiction comprising of 3 to 5 revenue districts.
